- Tue Jan 15, 2008 1:17 pm #37717 TBs always makes a hissing sound, it sucking up air so your engine could run. if its sound really loud you might want to check to see if the intake hose has a hole or is not completly sealing the TB part, but as everybody else said if your idle is normal and no check engine its ok.

The hissing sound can only be heard when I open the hood.

If the hood is closed, if I have my window down, or from the interior, I can't hear anything. And the car runs great.
