#115567 ok so i did a compression test on my d16z6 because im about to go turbo and want my motor solid. anyways i heard this motor is supposed to have 180-200psi??? correct me if im wrong pleeaasee! but anyways my compression was 155,115,120,125. according to what i was told is average my engine is low. so im assuming new rings are needed. also i did this test with engine at operating temp. what are good pisotns rings to get??? i want some hardened ones or something good for turbo.

k so my main question is do i have to split the head from the block to replace the rings?? or can i just pull the oil pan and pull the pistons through the bottom? let me know thanks

#115586 you can get by doing it from the bottom but it's easier to do it from the top.
Also check your valve seals, just in case.

Forged pistons are good for turbo. If you plan on turbo, then it's a good time to upgrade the rods as well. :thumb:

#115708 ok how do you check the valve seals?? ya i was gonna do forged pistons but then i would have to do forged connecting rods becuase it would be stupid not too ya know.

so ima just slap in new rod bearings and piston rings. what are good piston rings ans rod bearings cause as of right now ima just buy oem honda rings and acl bearings....

also do i need to replace connecting rod studs??? i heard i should
