There are five mounts. The two that are immediately obvious when you pop the hood are rarely a problem. There is no benefit to upgrading these two mounts.
The front lower mounts are almost always bad allowing the engine to rock excessively on hard throttle and shifting. One is on the AC engine mount (whether or not you have AC), and the one on the tranny. These two can be accessed from underneath the car. Support the engine with a jack on the transmission and remove the two bolts on each mount. Then remove the nut and slide the mount off the stud.
The rear mount is very difficult to access unless you have the car on a hoist and the intake manifold removed. This mount is critical not only to the engine rocking, but to the vibration transmitted to the chassis. If you are using aftermarket mounts or inserts on the other mounts, and this is a daily driver, then I suggest you use nothing stiffer than an OEM replacement rear engine mount. Otherwise your car will rattle like crazy when idling causing all kinds of annoying sounds in your interior.
