I'm attempting to change my alternator. I have aftermarket pulleys, and the alternator I got from the parts store has its own full page warning against attempting to remove the pully, void warranty, bla bla, "It is NOT possible to replace this pulley without dissassembling the unit." Is the exact quote.
Is this true? Or just a really good suggestion.
Or, If I leave the stock pulley on their, is it bad that it is roughly half the size of the aftermarket one I'd like to replace it with. Just looking at the two I'm thinking the stock one will spin about twice the rpm of the aftermarket one. I don't want to mesure it and calculate it out since 14 years ago I told my math teacher I'd never use stuff like that in the real world, and I intened to keep it that way.
