#30353 i have some money cuming soon so im gonna compile myself a list of parts i want and where i can have some of them fitted. its for a d16z6 btw.
ok so suspension kit isnt a problem i can takle that myself.
my aim is for acceleration more than anything so ide like to know a few things:
what sort of air filter i should be looking at either cold air induction or short ram?
going with a skunk2 cam & cam gear, need to no what stage to go for 1 or 2?
also going for skunk2 inlet manifold and throttle body not sure what size will be best for daily driving 60mm maybe? also gonna go with an aem fuel rail and fuel pressure regulator:?
what sort of header i should go for...4-2-1 or 4-1??? :?
exhaust and suspension is not a problem i know where i stand with that. also is there anything else i should think about buyin on top of all that? ide also like to know what sort of power figures i might see
and one last thing being where i can get the work done? apart from the air filter, inlet manifold and throttle body? :thumb: any help appreciated guys, cheers :thumb:

#30357 A lot of people make this mistake and just start throwing on popular name brand parts. You end up with empty pockets and an engine bay that is pretty, and kosher, but your car isn't particularly fast.

Start with a GOAL.

Is this car purely a daily driver? What is your budget? What is your priority, speed, show, reliability, or something else? How much hp do you want and do you even have a basis for that figure?

Right off the bat I can tell you that the tb and fpr are a waste of money considering the rest of the parts you mentioned. Usually you wait until you reach a point where you need a fuel upgrade to keep up with the power you're making. If you just bump the fuel pressure, you're bound to do more harm than good. Incidentally an adjustable fpr is not proper tuning. It would be great if an engine just needed a linear fuel increase. But there are actually many places on the fuel table where leaning it out will give you more power ie right after you reach peak torque.

This is an international forum. You want to ask where to get the work done? Okay. Go to Motiva in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I know a guy there.

#30361 ok then so give me sum advice as im new to hondas im tryin to learn and im keen to start building up my car, seein as it came out the factory with what? 123 bhp im guessin it doesnt have anywhere near that figure now so just 20 bhp or so more i dont need much power just want the car to entertain a little bit more. its a daily driver so its got to be fairly reliable, ide like to spend up to about £1500 give or take abit. as for somehwere to get the work done im based in the midlands in england and i dont mind travelling an hour away or so, i suppose that bit is for the uk members to shed some light on really, only asking on the off chance that maybe somebody knows somewhere. so basically if you could advise me of what sort of parts i should be looking at and what sort of brands if any i should be looking at it would help me alot thanks again guys

#30368 All of the little bits you posted will add up in price, but as mentioned, not really do much for power gains. I would save your cash and go big. Think B16 swap or turboing your D16. Both will end up costing around the same amount, a turbo D16 setup can get more expensive if you want to run a lot of boost.
All the money you spend on little things here and there will add up and before you know it, you could have saved half way up for a B swap or turbo kit.

B16 will put you at 160 HP, a reasonable size turbo on your D16 will put you at 160 - 180 HP. A smaller turbo will spool sooner, and running less boost will mean you can keep your motor stock, no need to rebuild with forged internals- assuming your motor is in good shape now. Just get a good tune :thumb:

#30384 nice one well a lad i was talkin to from my area mentioned a b16 swap which i got curious about, but again im still learning so dont really know where to start to be honest. does anyone know if theres a place in england that can do a decent conversion for me? if i were to do that ide be keeping it standard pretty much just a nice quick daily driver with no aim for anymore power. on the other hand ive had a quick look around and found a couple of turbo kits to run on standard internals apparently, from greddy and i think it was drag. however if i went down this route i need to research it alot more dont want anything going bang on me. would i be better building up my own kit or buyin a bolt on kit? thanks again
