Cv axel click.

- Sun Mar 29, 2009 1:56 am #106375 The noise comes from the outer joints which are made of an outer bell, a cage, six balls and the inner section - the bell, cage & inner have slots that the balls fit into.

As the assembly wears - the balls get smaller and the slots larger - it will no longer rotate smoothly when at an angle and it starts to "bite" or "nip" - leave it long enough and you'll be able to feel it trying to snatch the steering wheel out of your hand.
