ideal is jumping

- Fri Mar 27, 2009 2:57 pm #106125 i have a d16z6 and the ideal is jump really bad.... the ideal is jumping to 2300 rpms back down just under 1000 rpms??? i dont know why its doing it... a friend told me that there is a plunger like thing in the throttle body that reads water temp and if thats broke it will do this... but he said its most comin on turboed engines.... can someone help ???? :eh: [/b]

nah, yours sounds like a vacuum leak as well. Check all your hoses and see if anything is unplugged or cracked.

- Sun Mar 29, 2009 6:48 pm #106520 good advice i havnt hurd that one b4 but the thing is my thermistat is stuk open so it constently has coolent goen threw it and its always cold but ill add some and see what it does

I had an Accord that was doing that and adding fixed it, my current Civic Eg was doing it a few weeks back, same deal, low coolant, the thermostat could probably use a changing too, just for argument's sake
