Hello everyone:
My name is Stephen and I am looking to purchase a JDM EG6 in the near future. I just sold my previous ride which was a 1991 JZA70 Toyota Supra due to the fact that I am getting married this coming summer and I wanted to try something different. A lot of hard sweat and blood went into the car and I managed to put down 515whp on pump gas and methanol on the 1JZ.
With that said I am very new to Hondas. It all started a few months back when I went to the local dyno to talk to the owner about booking some time. That day a very clean EK civic was being dynoed and I was blown away. Fully built B18 with a GT3076 put down 440whp on pump and 520whp on race gas. I was very impressed with the car and the owner. It was nice to see a well done civic which could eat 95% of the cars on the road in pump gas form.
Ever since then I decided it would be cool to make an ultimate sleeper car and hopefully break into the 10's which happens to be one of my goals. I know it is not an easy goal but I think it is achievable with the right amount of help, knowledge and funds.
I really have no idea why I choose the EG platform but I like the idea of a hatch.I have seen a bunch of JDM ones come up for sale locally and I thought they would be a cool car to own as they come with a B16 from the factory.
My plans for the car are to find a relatively stock and unmolested vehicle and hopefully prep it for autocross and road course events. I have no idea how competitive I will be but this will give me an idea if I will even like this form of motor sports. I plan to gut most of the car and make it a track only vehicle. When I get bored of this setup I am going to hopefully drop a built B18 bottom,GT35R turbo and all the supporting mods to get into the 500-550whp range. From there on I want to hit the strip and try to get as close to my goal is possible.
So I guess that is a little bit of information about me and where I want to head with the car. I plan on sticking with the chassis for a good while so hopefully I will be on this forum for sometime. With that said I turn to you for advise.
1) Is my chassis choice appropriate for what I plan on doing with the car?
2) What are some good online one stop part shops for civics?
3) Is there a better way I should go about with my future boosted setup?
Thanks again in advance for your responses.
