#55260 Yeah, I'm new here and with cars in general. My start was with the Honda Civic and it was a 1993 DX Coupe. I was rear ended and the car was ruined so I needed a new car. I just got a new one, a 1993 EX Coupe (because I'm in love with the body style), the irony being that it's currently in the shop because the engine isn't working properly

Anyways, yeah, I've got a load of questions about my ride and I'm new to car stuff and don't know much about cars yet (like if my engine is a VTEC like is should be >.>) but might as well learn, so that's why I'm here :)

Nope, don't have any pictures of it yet. I want to get it looking in tip top shape. The last owner didn't take very good care of it so I'm trying to get it cleaned up. i.e. the engine is covered with grime, the hubcaps are shoddy junk, happy bunny stickers in the rear view mirror [eww], and ruined bolsters on the drivers seat covered up with a nasty seat cover.

When I get it back from the shop though I'll take a photo of the engine because I would love to find out what it is. I can't seem to find a photo of a similar engine at all to tell me if it's a VTEC (like what the EX should have) and it's driving me crazy :? That's my only major question on it at the moment :D

if it is an ex then it should have the D16z6 (vtec) motor

look for the vtec solenoid (small metal cylinder about the size of a spool of thread) on the left rear corner of the head. Then you'll have vtec for sure.

Got my car back from the shop and apparently it had water in the distributor :eh: Good news is that it didn't cost me a dime to get it towed from the street it died on and they didn't charge me to dry it. First thing I did was to check for the solenoid and sure enough it does have it :thumb: I'll get some pics up ASAP :D
