#72215 ok, this maybe be a stupid question but still learning. what is a p28? i've searched but found nothing, only how to chip it. also how do i found out what ecu i have? got a 95 si. can i chip my ecu and should i chip it? like i said i'm still learning

#72219 a P28 is the ecu used in 92-95 Si and Ex civics. it runs the D16z6 vtec engine.

Chipping is a bad idea unless you really know what you're doing. Stay away from things you see on ebay etc. If you're using a chipped ECU, it should be done professionally and be ready to pay for some dyno time and a tuner who can fine tune a program for your car.

So unless your car is heavily modified naturally aspirated or boosted, chipping should not be at the top of your list of mods. :thumb:

#72347 to find out what ECU u have just look at the middle number should say something like P06, P07, P28 etc....
