#115134 So I am buying a 92 eg and he said the driver side rocker is sticking out a little which I've seen and isn't that bad but he said the control arm is not working he has the piece but will it cost a lot for labor the install the control arm

#115172 control arm is not working? It has to be pretty badly damaged not to work. If he hit something bad enough to damage a control arm then there's a good chance the subframe bay have been bent.

Also that rocker panel not staying on is probably because the area behind it is rusted out, seen it plenty of times before on these cars.

#115178 Im sorry it says it needs the control arm but he has the part and he has it ...it jus needs to be installed and also how much do you think a mechanic would charge and can it be done by me also if it needs a control arm can I drive it home or is it undrivable

also pics of where the control arm connects to the body will be good too so we can look for damage there.

now he said he has the control arm but i need to get it installed is all can it be driven without the control arm


do you think its worth buying for 1600 or am i looking at alot of work and alot of money just to make it drivable

#115286 that's quite the repair... not just sheet metal on the surface but it looks to be pushed in pretty far. The rear wheel looks to have some pretty major toe out. Maybe you could get away with just replacing the control arm, but I would have it professionally checked out first to be sure that any other suspension components aren't damaged or the subframe isn't bent.

I personally would not pay $1600 for a car that has that kind of damage... there's plenty of hatches out there that you can buy for $1600 and drive them on the road as is. That car looks to have been abused.
