Carbon fiber hood question?

- Mon Nov 21, 2011 7:22 pm #282307 What is the weight difference between a stock OE civic hood and an aftermarket carbon fiber hood? I know it varies from manufacturer to manufacturer, but what is a good approximation? I'm just trying to justify the purchase. THanks.

- Mon Nov 21, 2011 8:15 pm #282312 Different CF hoods will vary as some have heavier construction, full undersides or heavier latches.
My cf hood weighs under 10 lbs and you can pick it up with a finger. It's made by JSP (not sure if they're still around).

I think the stock hood weighs in around 30 lb.
