#73217 Why are you reinforcing your trailing arm? Why would you need to do that?

#73221 Ask them what they meant by reinforce the arm.

But trailing arm bushes are tricky, most say they are the hardest, however you can do them yourself and save yourself a big bill. It will include taking the trailing arm assembly off if you don't have a press.

Also a quick tip, with bushes put them in the freezer so they shrink slightly. While they're in there, get the metal on the trailing arm hot. The bushes will fit into the hole a lot easier.

Look at the DIY section, you'll find a fairly good way of replacing them with not too much time spent. If they pop out with a bit of a push then great if not, burn them out and replace with energy suspensions trailing arm bush, if they're too expensive an OEM spec bush will suffice just as well.

Garage's know a fair bit about what they're on about, but take most things with a pinch of salt, with recession creeping in on businesses they'll tell porky's just to get some extra cash into the business.

All the best

#73259 Trailing arm bushing are omg sofa king easy!!!

Take the trailing arm off. Mark with a white marker where the bushings line up with the arm. top and bottom, basically to get the other one is correctly. Take a nice sized hammer and knock out the bushing. take the new one and line it up with the marks. up should be up and all that. This is the tricky part. You will need to tap it in evenly all around. make sure its not cocked to one side or another and BAM. your done.

Beleive it or not, this is how more often then not they are done at your honda dealer. Ive seen plenty of techs do it this way.

If you lowered your car and then your bushings failed, you should mark where the bushing line up before removing it that way when you put the new bushing in, it won't break under the . usually a combination of old rubber and lowering the car is what makes the bushing fail. :thumb:

No mountains where we are. well one, but it's a dwarf compared to normal mountains. and it's more so the salt and shit they use on the roads in the winter
