#67686 Well since really my autocross season has ended I am thinking about getting the structure of my eg stiffer I have been getting my welder fixed(taking forever) but yea and am planning on doing some things to stiffen her up a but structurally so she will handle more in the means of autocross as well as speed in drag (which i havent done yet but plan on once i get my b done.....

Here are my ideas for just using the chasis and doing some things

Welding the seat rails up (such as the holes well most of them I am probaly running wire through a couple of them

putting a bead or so throughout the pinch welds such as the door jambs fender areas and core support as well as the rear

Since I done carry a spare I was debating about cutting out the rear tire well and making a custom box / container area that will hold the fix a flat 2 cans and my battery since i plan on relocating it. but this is a big step i think i dont wish to harm my car.

I also am planning on adding strut bars as well as making myself a boltin roll cage (that will take some work any ideas on making this easier would be great)

And thats what im thinking as of right now that is going to be my plan still unsure of doing everything but I have heard and seen people doing this to rwd cars such as datsuns and other cars to stiffen up the chasis so let me know what you think

I think this would help a lot. I've seen it done on dedicated race cars a lot.

The roll cage can be the bigest difference in stiffening up your car, but do a lot of research if you are going to design your own. You'll be adding weight so be sure the design will give you maximum results to compensate for the added weight.

Larger sway bars and an ASR rear subframe brace will help stiffen the underside up.

#67689 There are a lot of books on chassis prep for racing aka reinforcement seem welding. This will actually make a huge improvement unlike strut braces that do virtually nothing except add weight. As for building a cage I would not recommend it unless you're going to apprentice at a shop with experience doing that.

I once saw an article online that compared the Integra Type R chassis to the regular Integra showing the bracing and reinforcement that was added. There are a lot of similarities being that it's the same platform as the Civic so I'd start there.

Good idea for the sways since the cx never had any and the asr rear subframe brace is probaly going to be my next purchase after tires since that metal there is kinda thin and in turning takes alot of stress

#68152 The set up I'm collecting parts for consist of a godspeed cross bar., harness bar, floor bar. along with the usaul strut bars and sway bars. Along with amazinf suspension.. I wouldn't venture into all that unless you have those items and are completely disgusted with it...

Have you tried tuning your suspension and adjusting your strut braces??
