- Thu Jan 02, 2014 8:35 pm #340911 Hi all eg nuts.. I recently had a problem where I replaced my oem Becker Radio with a Sony cdx270 head unit.. Problem was that whenever I played it a bit louder than whisper it would cut out and reset the hu.. When I turned on the head lights it would completely shut off. all wiring was checked and double checked. After much troubleshooting found that the original earth/ground wire was not enuf.. I then earthed the hu to the nearest unpainted metal body part and bobs your uncle all is well. I used a piece of 10gauge wire from the screw at the rear of the hu to the unpainted frame.. Hope this helps someone..
