#137562 Ok so im running a d15b2 bottom end with a z6 head on...along with a obd0 alternator ( since i still have the stock crank pulley on it. )......

Ok so first off lets start with what ive done
-Alt was loose so i tightened her up up a bit and that ended sorta the squeeky belt problem (i think i can still here it squeeking but not completely sure....

-Sprayed the alternator down with lube thinking it may be the bearings and i also put di-electric grease on the plug.....
After doing that the light went off
And i was able to run the motor without a battery hooked up (my quick way of seeing if the alt worked.....

So now i dont know if it is the battery doing this or the alternator because the first time the light came on the car was running and i pulled the battery cable off but the motor quickly died......

So i really dont know whats going on.....

Because if i hit a certain rpm the light will fliker and then go away.....

Anyone have any ideas tomarrow im gonna try some more stuff but i want to get this done with and not worry myself thinking im going to die on the road one day....

#137589 best way... take out your battery
take it to auto store. test battery... if its good and hold a charge then its most likely your altinator.. you can just pull the alt. off and test it also... worst case you need a new battery or alt..

#137623 You should also check your wires to your Alt. and the ones in the fusebox...Hope that helps... :thumb:

#139164 good idea to check your battery and alternator before you end up stranded on the side of the freeway cause you have no juice left anywhere for your fuel injection

but napa can test your alternator for you and any battery place will do a load test on the battery for you :thumb:

#139186 ok so it still keeps comming on when i plug my ipod in so im thinking the problem lies within me using the smaller obd0 pulley but thankfully my motors pretty much shit so im putting in a OBD1 motor and that pulley is bigger
