#68856 Hi im a guy from finland and i have a problem like this:
when i accelerate, the engine coughs and thinks for a moment before anything starts to happen. i have replaced all filters, all sensors, battery, resetted ecu 12431 times atleast, and still this problem stays.

also when i have gear in neutral and i put the gas pedal quickly to the floor, engine thinks again for a moment, and doesnt really take revs before the cauge reaches ~4000rpm.

so,when i was changing a new map-sensor, i had this crazy idea to try what engine likes when i just take off the electric-plug from sensor-> the diagnostic light fires up, but SUPRISE SUPRISE engine works like a dream.
and i connected the plug to a new map sensor and guess what guys, the problemo came back. going to replace ecu unit next... good ideas for fault causer are accepted. and thanks for great info site :)

#69012 That's not the proper testing procedure for the MAP. All you're doing is putting the ECU in limp mode so it's running off of predefined maps and ignoring all sensors. To test the MAP sensor you need a multimeter and a handheld vacuum pump with a gauge.

#69072 err, as far as i know, in limp mode the revs are limited to 3500 and in this case the engine goes all the way to the red.. and new map didnt work either so. and yes i have measured the incoming voltage, ground, and the signal that sensor sends at all should be ok

#69105 hmm is this TPS throttle position sensor or ? im pretty sure they are not mixed, otherwise my "fault" light would be on all the time. well im having a new ecu tomorrow for 20euros so its worth a try :)
