check the fues, check the light bulbs, check the wiring around the lights in the trunk/hatch
if all that is good, check the brake switch under the dash.. its a 2 wire connector for cars w/o curise controll and 4 wire plug with CC..
it might need to be adjusted or it might need to be replaced
