so i read the exhaust chapter in this book: http://www.amazon.com/Honda-Acura-Engin ... 155788384X and it said that back pressure in an exhaust is completely un-needed what you need is "exhaust stream velocity", which cause the "scavenging-effect" which creates a vacuum at the exhaust port and sucks the residual exhaust gasses from the cylinder its a lot of science, acoustics, blah blah, basically i want to straight pipe from the down pipe back with 2inch pipe no muffler no cat no resonator (those are actually worse) and now i'm just wanting some feedback from you guys, maybe some experience you have with straight pipes, any knowledge you have of them anything to add to the science aspect of the small hp gains, and btw yes i know its going to be loud but so is this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1oPB-LN4W4 , and thats pretty much the performance i want.

I guess the first thing will be:
What is your goal? Goal is what are you doing to the engine and goal on the engine/car.
As for a normal car running straight pipe from manifold and out... NO! Not advise. Also, you won't pass smog just by the sound of it.
Also, you will be running so rich = lost of HP (which is what you wanted), car going to run like crap with no mods and the list goes on and on.
But if you plan to run your car like you don't care. Gas and speed from stop to go, I guess it doesn't hurt to straight pipe it for drag.
