- Sun Sep 05, 2010 3:53 pm #212328 I'm in the market for a ls/vtec and was wondering if my chiped p28(b16) will do or do I have to change it out for another one??? Also what about the b16 a/c will it be alright for that motor or do I also have to swap out??? And last what about the crank pully from the b16 will it bolt up to the b18???

The AC bracket bolts to the block, not the head, so you can use either the B16 bracket and AC compressor, or the B18 bracket and compressor. I'm not sure if the brackets are different.

As far as ECU goes, what chip is in the P28? How long will you be driving it before you get it tuned? You know you have to get it tuned ASAP, right?

The B16 crank pulley will work on the B18 crank.

not this deck height..... Block Deck Height = (Stroke/2) + Rod Length + Compression Height + Stock Deck Clearance.... i meant the casting of the block. arent they the same???? :?

- Tue Sep 07, 2010 12:15 am #212539 no they are not the same. the b16a and b17a blocks are not as tall as the B18/20 blocks.


Was tune is on the P28. Wether you got it tuned yesturday or 9 years ago doesnt matter. it just depends on what tune is on the chip. A b16a tune will run the motor...barely. A gsr or itr would be better, but still not good enough.
