- Tue May 04, 2010 5:27 am #191725 As far as i know, Every EG came out of the Honda Factory with a Catalitic Converter. They need them to pass Emissions.

Its quite possible that whoever had your EG before you removed the Catalitic converter, Trying to get more power from the engine.

the only thing i can thing of is that the guy who had it before my friend mite of put it on the quiton the car down due to it been a EX show car

- Wed May 05, 2010 10:04 am #191933 As far as I know all Eg's came with a cat over here as well, but at the end of the day all that really matters is that it passes emission test set for the vehicle type in the year of manufacture.

As you state though the cut off is august 1992 after that you have to have a cat. So if your car can pass emissions with out a cat then you will be okay, but I'm pretty sure they came with a cat from factory for a reason a reason. There is one way to find out and that is when MOT time comes.
