Hi Peeps,hope someone can help me shed some light on an annoying problem with my Vti,it has developed it is 1992 4 door saloon model UK.
Well it is a standard B16A2 engine just mods like exhaust and induction kit nothing out of the ordinary anyway.
What happens alot especially when the car has not been used for a couple of days the car hesitates alot and then acts like it is running on three cylinders for literally 5 seconds enough to notice and sometimes cuts out it can be a little difficult to start sometimes this can happen anytime,the only thing I have not changed in my ownership now 2 years is the petrol filter and fuel pump?(someone suggested that fuel pump pressure not working properly).No real power seems very poor compared to my last Vti.
I have no engine management light up so anyone able to start the process of illimination please.

- Thu Oct 29, 2009 8:06 pm #153621 Fuel filter, spark plugs, high tension leads, distributor cap, and rotor button. Simple tune up will prove immensely helpful.

As far as the fuel pressure goes, if your pump is priming (high pitched "whizzzz" sound), you have pressure. Unless the fuel pressure regulator diaphragm is torn in which case you will be sucking fuel into the intake manifold through the regulator. Highly unlikely. And you'd know it if that was the case.
