a buddy at work has a 98 accord with a F23A1, this morning he pulled into work and said battery light came on and it was hard to turn. i thought the belt broke. so we popped the hood and both belts were intact but just hanging there. i went to put it back on and the crank pulley was loose no recent work done to the car, we ordered a new pulley because the "teeth" on his are ground down smooth. i was wondering if the crank would have the "teeth" as well or is it smooth? his crank is smooth and i want to make sure we dont need to drop the engine and replace the crank. any idea why the bolt would back out?

got time today to check it out and found the woodruff key slot has chip of the crank that broke off jammed in it so the key cant go in and with a chip in the crank i will most likely be dropping in a jdm f23a from zerolift. should be picking it up next week along with a 3s-gte celica alltrac turbo full swap for the 88 alltrac my manager just got.
