#322142 sooo i havnt been on here in a while...but the reason being is i got a new honda that i added to the family...dont worry for those of yu who know my other build thread i still have my EG8...and she is still my daily driver...for now.. :lol: ...but any ways some background on the "new" honda

first off i purchased the car for $100 USD from a old friend i used to work with...he started to work on it as a project but got way in over his head..he started to take the motor out himself and just started storing everything in the as you will see in some pics later on he was going to just give it to me but i didnt feel right just taking it from him as he could easily scrap the car for about $200-300....its a white 97 DX coupe..has some rust in an odd places but will be fixed soon enough..the car came with a blown D16Y7..the doors were swapped with power window and locks..but currently only wired up for windows,i think it has some EBAY sleeves for suspension, HX 14" rims...the car was pretty messy actually...but its all being cleaned up...so far i have ripped out the entire interior EXCEPT the dash itself...pulled out the motor and trans and did a mini wire tuck..im int the process of doing the 2000 front end conversion but i want to wait to get everything lined up properly at least until i get the new motor swap mounted in the engine bay

the new motor and trans is a B18B1 and a GSR trans..i bought the swap for $700 USD..motor came with everything but the wire harness and ecu..the trans came with half shaft and thats about it i think..cant remember at this moment...the only bad thing is im not REALLY sure if the motor and trans run good or not..they were not in a vehicle..but i did get some paperwork if its not a good swap..as far as the motor goes im not sure wich rout im going to take yet and how far im going to go with it...but i will need some help in that area in the near future on advice and guidance :thumb: :thumb:

#322210 thanks guys..i cant beleive the deal i got on this car..i mean its got issues...but for $100???...i cant really go wrong...im excited to work on it..

but now my first question is anyone knows...can i use my stock ECU from the EK with the B18 motor??..its the same OBD2..im just not sure if the car will run differently because the ECU was made for a single cam motor....any insight please let me know..i tried doing my home work on it..but i cant seam to find the answer

the stock ecu assumes you have 190cc injectors.
i recommend an obd2 ls ecu.

i thought they were the same..i did some research on them cuz i was going to put LS injectors in my EG with the Y8 motor cuz i had the stock LS injecors laying around..i assumed they would be bigger but i was told that all the D nd B series injectors are 240cc

#322352 the injectors are the same, but you will need an ls ecu or you can chip a obd1 ecu and use a jumper harness.

by they way thats a good save, the ek will need alot of help but it looks like you got it :thumb:

almost all other honda obd1/2 injectors are 240cc.
some preludes have 330cc injectors.

really??well it doesnt matter it this point any way i just orderd a P75 last night for $40 on ebay...i just hope it works :?

its an OBD2a ecu..i know it will plug in and work in that sense...i just hope it works in the snese of actual functionality...cuz i have been looking for a while now and $40 is pretty cheep for P75 ecu
