If you have anything other than a 92-95 Civic, post it in here

#309183 """""""the part list for my car was basicly complete drivetrain from a 99-00 crv.

- gearbox + brackets + cables
- starter ( you will need to grind off the starter or the block to make it fitt in - i reconmend you mock up the box and motor before you put it in and you will see right away what i mean )
- driveshaft
- rear differential
- axles ( i used two right ones in my setup, reason- the rear diff in the crv is not in the middle, so the axles are differant length, but i put it in the middle in the civic an could use them with no mods at all, no need tho shorten or lengthen them )
- trailing arms
- lower control arms

also used
- integra rear shocks
- e-brake cables from any civic with drum brakes
- civic shuttle gas tank ( i strongly reconmend a fuelsell for this - i regret not have)

think thats it.

to go for front five lug ,the ITR front is the easyest way to go, do not waste time on the crv ones . """""""

got bored..
so i started on my awd setup for an ek iwe got ..

got a complete drive train from a crv , 5 speed manual box, rear diff e.c.t

#309243 well weekend is over and so are the trailing arms..

Image

Image

when i was thinking about doing this i raped the internet to get some idea for how to do this, and i think i found all awd setups in the world but no closer on how to actual do this (using the crv arms that is), so i reinvented the wheel on this.

This is not the "right", "only" , "best" way to, just how i did it..

first i measure the hell out off it, find center point , tilt , e.c.t

Image

Image

sorry for the mad paint skills, but i hope u get it :eh:

i cut the crv arm into what i thought to be an ideal size ...
get the gut-out crv peace , lay it on the new one ,make adjustments if needed , mark where to cut ....and cut

Image

Image

i made a t shaped axle to use as a land, support ,and zero point , stuck it in the middle hole u can see in the photos and measured middle , tilt e.c.t
note: this hole is NOT dead center in the middle so u can not relay on it to be so ..

Image
again sorry .. hope u get it.

Image

tack it and measure again .. and again..
Image

Image

Image

Image

and then weld..

Image

Image

fill in the gaps with flat iron and make supports if u want, i used the cut-offs from the crv arms..

Image

turn it around and cut the axle out and make space for the rear axle ...

Image

Image

Image

this is a bearing support from the crv, i cut off one of its "legs" to fit it in..

Image

primed and collored.. optional :eh:

Image

Image

and assembled

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

the first arm took me about 10 hours to build, but due to prep, the other one took about 45 min, including coffee and a smoke... :eh:

and again there are 10000 ways to do this, some awesome ,other shit..

hope u like my awesome sh..... 8)

back to work...

#312869 this was done today..
was trying to avoid to cut up the floor , but since i did not want to drag the differential with me every were i go it was a must do.. :eh:

Image

maybe a overkill but to late now..... worry about that later :D

old lca and the crv diff..

Image

the measurements board..
Image

i thought i would be better to make a new lca and diff brace than cut up the crv one and fu#k it all up..
Image

mock up ..
Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

and a arty farty photo in the end. :eh:
