I really hope you took care of the vin # situation when you swapped out that dash. A friend of mine lost his car because he put in a new dash, and his vin numbers no longer matched up. Cops took his car from him.

- Thu Aug 23, 2007 9:32 pm #20911 yea i swapped it out i looked at it first and it took me a while to get one off lol but it didnt take a long time to get the other off because it didnt have it but i used like geurilla glue and it stayed on there pretty good lol

You're not supposed to touch the vin!!! :o Thats all supposed to be handled by the MVD. There's a big process that you have to go through.

The law pertaining to this is very ambiguos. If you commit this crime knowingly, such as to conceal the car's identity, then it is a class 5 felony. Another related statute indicates that if a person removes, damages, defaces unknowingly, it is a class 3 misdemeanor.
