- Wed Mar 23, 2011 3:09 am #245577 alright just maing sure because didnt want to find out that the cluster was different and have a car with tmu which wouldnt be to fun. and im thinking about just getting the small 8k redline one from advanced auto and the voltage one because of my stereo system. and oil pressure gauge too.

- Fri Mar 25, 2011 7:56 pm #246233 update!!! got home today from school and my vc gasket came in from rockauto! gonna finish the rear brakes today then should be doing the vc gasket if anyone need a vc gasket for their civic look on rockauto i payed 18 and change for a beck/arnly vc gasket with plug rings. pics up later or tomorrow

- Sun Mar 27, 2011 6:59 pm #246562 soo got the valve cover off and the rubber things where the studs are on the vc wer brittle and broke... so i dont know if i have to find some somewhaere or can buy new ones? and found out the paint is going to be x metal red. will post pics later

- Tue Mar 29, 2011 1:14 am #246832 hey man, stinks about your ruber things. You should def replace them if they are broken. If you have all the metal toppers you might be able to get away with reusing them temporarily depending on the shape of the gromet thingies.
Im sure you can find a set some where online for cheap. I know how it is to be low on cash though. I finally got a little extra money to fix up my car and it was suddenly time to start school again. (Except that i got called for jury duty and that started today, which was supposed to be my first day back at school).

Def post pics when you get the paint. any idea when youll be continuing the rust repair?

- Tue Mar 29, 2011 2:08 am #246844 yeah im thinkin bout goin to a junkyard or something. i have court in april so ill know what i have to pay for fines then the rest of my money i have saved can go into the rest of the bigger repairs like the 1/4s. and the timing belt is way to loose feeling so guess i gotta do that too. thinkin bout wwaitin to c if i can just do the mini me on her. with a z6 theres a ton in my area for sale

To bad about the fenders. Atleast they are usually fairly cheap to buy used. They could have looked a lot worse in the meantime too.

- Thu Mar 31, 2011 12:18 pm #247336 thank ya i used tht metallic red metal x from walmart man it is a pain to use because it comes out so strong. only had a couple small runs but there kinda hidden. and yeah i found out my front clip is a coupe one i tryed lining up the bumper and it didnt look right. so trying to see if someones willing to trade for a coupe one once i clean it up.

- Thu Mar 31, 2011 11:01 pm #247471 thank ya flush! glad to know i inspired someone haha. i suggest useing a good black paint from a rattle can or jsut put a good amount of coats because i used cheap 96 cents a can walmart spray and its a tad weak but it works finefor now for me. once the trunk holes are fixed this weekend for the bak of the inner wheel wells in the rear im gonna do my valve adjustment,see if i can tighten up my timing belt a lil bit, clean up some of the wiring in the engine bay and all the hoses then degrease the whole motor compartment,painting the brackets and possibly the manifold or making custom heat shield for it, then doing a semi-shave on the engine bay, ohh and adding more grounds with some 4 gauge heavy duty audio power wire till i can afford 1/0 gauge. im sure im missing a couple things for soon to come things but you get my point haha.
