By the way, where did you get that center console?

Bought it from Ebay. It was almost complete, just missing the pocket, but the single din install kit I purchased had a pocket in it so everything worked out.

#239643 No new mods to the car yet, but here are a couple of new additions to the garage.

1. This thing worked wonders to remove pinstripes. No more heat gun and credit card. I put this thing on my air drill, and the pinstripes just vanished!

2. 2-ton folding shop crane courtesy of harbor freight.

#239783 Picked up a set of black leather RSX seats to put in the car. It's a little late to get started tonight, so I will install them tomorrow. The guy I got them from said he had them in a eg, so the rails should already be modified.

I did a google serch for lowrider jacks, and had a ton of hits for one of the harbor freight floor jacks. I'll probably end up getting one so I dont have to drive my car up on boards every time.

New tools are awesome!! The weather is halfway decent right now so the wifey and I are going out for a bike ride, and I'll work on the seats later in the afternoon.

#239916 Well, I went to install the rsx seat and they are not an exact fit like the seller said. I'm going to have to cut off the rear brackets, move them up and re-weld them to the rails. The front bolts up fine. I dont have a welder right now, so that gives me an excuse to go shopping! LOL! Here are some pics.

The rear isnt off by much

The rsx seat will sit a little higher

#243637 THE RSX SEATS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED!!!! (finally)

When I got the seats, the previous owner of them said he had them installed in his ej2, but they would NOT fit in my ej1 so I tried to modify the brackets to get them to fit. I didnt feel the brackets were safe so I cut/grinded all them off the seat rails but one.
Image

Used my trusty cutoff wheel and a little heat to get the brackets off.

took some flat steel stock
Image

used some heat, and bent the metal to the angle of the brackets that were on the seat origionally.

#243638 Then, I took my newly aquired welder
Image

and welded the brackets onto the seat rails, and then painted everything where i had to grind and weld
Image

The step I didnt take any pictures of is this. After i bent the steel, i put the brackets in the car where the origionals bolted to, and then set the seat in place so I could get a good idea of where the brackets needed to be welded on the rails
