When I start the car, it runs at about 1800 rpm for a second. Nice and smooth, then drops to about 1000 and starts sputtering (and continues sputtering when I give it a little rev back to 1800-2000). Also I'm not sure if it's in my head or what but when I hold my hand to the exhaust, then smell it, it smells like fuel. Not strongly, just a faint trace.
I only have tomorrow to sort this out, then I'm out of town for a couple weeks, so quick replies would be greatly appreciated.
I picked up some RC injectors with about 1500 miles on them for a good price. Problem was, they were peak & hold. I picked up a resistor box and here's how I wired it:
The marked wires from the distribution block go to the single wire on the resistor box, and then the four wires from the resistor box into the four wires of the harness that were intersected. The resistance of each of the four wires of the resistor box was about 6.6-6.7 ohms.
When I measure resistance from each of the four wires to their corresponding wires on the injector harness, I get something like 12.5 ohms for 1 and 4 and 6.6-6.7 ohms for 2 and 3. Also it doesn't seem to matter which wire I pick to measure from at the resistor box, they all give the same reading. What the hell?
I have a chipped P28 with a basemap for these injectors. Car ran like a swiss watch with the old chip/stock injectors.
