Post YOUR Hatchback here

#323629 This is my 92 Hatch. When i bought it it was pretty much factory, just lowered. It looked like this.

I right away put wheels on it, but noticed that it rode worse every day i had it. The guy that owned it previously said he had lowered the car on pep boys shocks and springs. I knew they werent the best of springs but i figured they would ride ok for a while at least. I finally got tired of riding like shit and bought a set of Drop Engineering adjustable coilovers, with dampening control. Installed them, and it rides good again. I have also installed a carbon fiber duckbill. Im not a huge fan of the USDM headlight so i also changed out to JDM healights, and corners....to me they just look cleaner. Front lip was added after. The car, of course, is a D15B7 and really slow....but gets amazing gas milage. I also added some small excessories like toe hooks, and lower control arms. As of right now it looks like this.

Future plans are removing the slow D15 and installing the B18B1 for a little more power. Next winter i will probably turbo on low boost. Not really wanting to build a "race car", just something fun to drive.

More updates to come....

Going to get a GSR Tranny tomorrow. Just need the wiring harness, which i think im going to use a auto one that i have laying around. Ill probably change it out when i have the manny one. I have heard the autos will work, someone correct me if im wrong.

#323632 the auto harness will work just fine, you just either can unpin the left over auto plugs from the harness or just let em hang :thumb: :thumb:

#325868 So the B18B swap is going pretty good. Piecing this bitch together is taking some time though. My car was a auto car, so I am converting to manual as well. The swap actually is going smoother then the auto to manny swap. The pedal assembly is a bit of a bitch, and when i changed my brake pedal, the little nob on the upper side of the pedal doesn't go up into the switch to turn off my break lights. So im having to fab some shit with that. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Other then that its pretty much done. I have driven it, love the extra power for sure. Picture updates will come soon.

yeah this was right after we got everything in. It still was very thrown together. I was nervous about the person i purchased the engine from, so we pretty much got it to where we could start it, just to make sure the damn thing would run. Turns out it runs good. It has a GSR tranny, and its something to get used to when you normally are driving a ls tranny. short short gears. hears some pictures of us finishing it up. My dad was a big help.

#327688 So i have been driving the car for a few weeks. Noticed that im getting horrible gas mileage, so its very rich. Its idling ok, but kinda bucks a little bit when driving down the road. Doesn't throw any check engine lights. Anyone have any ideas why it may be so rich. Im using the obd2 ls wiring harness. Do i need to rewire the O2 sensor at all? Ive read around that you have to convert to 2 wire, or 2 wire....or something. I did order a Fuel pressure regulator, and a Safc, so hopefully that may help my issue a little, but i need to get to the bottom of it. Any help would be great.

#328183 Did you change the fuel filter and/or clean the injectors? Maybe check teh MAP sensor? That's what helped me in the past... worth a shot.

And I love your orange corner lights... 8)

Thanks! I like them too.

Just a quick update on the car. I couldn't figure out why it was running so poorly, so i sent it to a very smart Honda specialist in my area that got it figured out. There was a couple things actually. Turns out the engine was in a car that was probably on fire at some point in its life. The map sensor was only reading from the wide open side, so it thought it was floored the whole time....this causing the car to be overly rich. So that was the first issue. Whoever put a new intake gasket on the engine (before i got it) did not get all of the old gasket off the intake/engine and so it was sucking air through the double gasket. He chipped the computer with a build of k pro, and tuned it just right. The car is running like a charm now. There a other little odds and ends things he did as well. Since i used a auto harness, the plug for the speed sensor had to be repined, he did that. So now i know how fast i am going. The idle air control was jacked, so he fixed that. In all, i am very happy with the way its running now.

Next, time for some boost. I think i am going to turbo the car either in the fall, or maybe the winter. For now, i will just enjoy what i have.

#329379 Since the engine is running great, decided to refocus a little more attention on style. Painted the valve cover today. I was going to paint it purple, but my local auto parts store did not have the color of purple that i wanted. So, my second choice was white (we will see how long that lasts) as to match the car. I got a little help from the DIY section of this site, which helped quite a bit. Took me about half the day. Here are some pictures of the process.

It wasnt perfect by any means, but i did impress myself. It was really the first time i have painted anything, so i was amazed it came out as good as it did. I guess we will see how long it hangs in their. I bet its going to be a bitch to keep clean.

I have ordered a few other things. Got a rear tie bar (purple) that i am pretty excited to come.

I really dont think its going to do much performance wise, but it should look neat. Also got some hood risers.

As far as performance, i plan to turbo the car real soon, so im going to hold off on a header. I did order some exhaust. Nothing special for now.l I will keep updating.
