The hatch is coming along very well, I like the cage.
If you havn't picked up a turbo yet you should look into a Holset HE351VE VGT Turbo.
I have seen people use a waste gate to control the VGT and an external wastegate to control boost. I am planning on getting on of these turbos and make it work on my WRX after I strengthen my transmission.
Your already setup for an External wastegate and these turbos are bewteen 100+50 shipping to 350 + shipping on ebay. I can not think of a better bang for buck setup. I was thinking of either using nitrous to help spool a bigger turbo or doing a combo charging system until I found about these turbo's. Its a turbo that will flow 600+ hp and should spool better then your 16g.
First driving impressions is that spool is pretty good, better than my 61mm t4 with a better topend for sure. Only running 14psi at this time but you can feel the turbo really want to come awake after 12-13psi.
In third gear starting at 2000 rpms I have have 10 psi by 3200 and 14 by 3400 Feels like 20psi would hit right after.
In 5th I can get 14 psi before 3000 rpms, builds boost part throttle nicely. I haven't tuned the system at all yet, I think it might need to open a bit slower/later but so far I like it a lot.

Sure this quote is from Supra Forums and they have a 3 liter to your 1.8(or my 2.0) however I am still very excited about this turbo. I cant wait to get my supporting mods done so I can install one myself.
Regardless of which way you go I am looking forward to seeing this car built and destroying all sorts of cars in the next lane.
