Dash Seats, Steering Wheels etc... If it's inside your Civic then it's in here.

#66643 Is it possible to change the HVAC blower unit without taking the dash out? Mine squeaks and every summer I say I'm going to change it but then forget about it until it gets cold.

#66842 Dash has to come out, because there is not enough space for the blower to be removed with the dash in place. With EJ/EG's it doesn't take long at all, about 8 screws/bolts altogether :)

do you want the blower or the whole unit? the blower it self comes out from the bottom with 3 screws. if you want the whole unit yes the dash needs to come out. Dont forget about the coolant lines that come through the firewall (bulkhead)

Just the blower. Mine makes a squeaking noise when you have it on low and it bugs me. I don't have a passenger airbag in my car. I was hoping I could just take off the glove box, unhook the coolant lines and unbolt it and it would slide out so I can put the new one in.

sorry about that, didn't make my post clear. like mage182 said. if it's just the blower, remove your centre console and glovebox and you should have plenty of room to remove the blower itself.

#66939 Awesome thanks. I'll get to that this weekend. I wonder what kind of stuff will be in there. I've seen pictures on other sites of people who take theirs out to find them full of 10+ years worth of sticks, leaves, mold, dirt, and everything else you can think of.

#67682 Update. You don't have to remove the entire blower unit. The fan itself installs from the bottom and it held in by 3 screws and one wiring connector. All you have to do is take out the glove box and that will give you adequate access to swap the fan out. It's also a good idea to fire up the compressor and blow all the crap out of the housing that's in there. I had a whole mess of stuff.
