- Sat Feb 27, 2010 2:07 am #178098 Soo went to the local wreckers to pick up a few ICM's to fix my dizzy.
as always i left with more than i came for.

I came across a 92-95 coupe si. looked inside and it had the Optional Audio Console!!
Never ever seen one in this area so i had to have it!

it was in rough shape. someone had already gotten into it and put come cracks in it.

also picked up a OEM radio and CD player that i will also be installing.

these came standard in the RHD civics right?

The whole bracket was twisted.


So a few screws kept it square



The Harness.







Waiting for the Epoxy to dry then i will clean, sand and paint the console back.

I will install it all tomorrow.

and dont worry it happens to all of us we always come back with more than we went up for

I gotta start a build thread for this car. i have ALOT of body work to do.

i like it better than a big flashy aftermarket deck
the OEM one fits sooo nice in there too.
you dont need that trim around it like aftermarket
and it sits flush. hahaha

- Sat Mar 06, 2010 4:41 am #179477 okay so i got some more progress done on my new stereo set-up and audio console.

I had a heck of a time getting my dash lights to come on and once i got that figured out then my radio doesnt light up.
Fortunately there was power going to the illumination so i knew it was somewhere in the deck.
And im not one to just toss out original honda parts so heres what i did

This is how the radio started with no lights. Impossible to see at night!





Now it all comes apart



And then i made a DISCOVERY!


Yes its true. Alpine made honda deck
Who woulda thunk?

Anyways after a few test with the meter i had a faulty connection on the motherboard.
to solve this i would run a new wire to the lights.

here is the wire to the lights in the front buttons.



then the one inside this



and theres the second wire



Man those were hard to solder. soooo small

after that it went back together to see the final product!!1





TADAAA!!! all done
i may have to do the same for the CD player aswell but ill see.

pics will be coming of it all installed.
