#246326 *Mods if this in the wrong place please move thanks*

So, I'm new here and more of an Integra guy, but I'm considering buying a 92 hatch for my wife to daily around town. I am hoping you guys might be able to answer some questions for me.

Here are the details on the car... it's a 92 si hatch, with 250,000km (160k miles), a mild but ugly body kit, uuuugly wheels, and according to the owner (I haven't seen it in person) there is no rust on the car. It's also got a clean title. No service records available. Is there anything specific with EGs I should be looking for? I mean aside from the typical honda rot? Any mechanical areas to pay attention to in particular? Transmission? What about the value of the car? What would be a fair price to pay for a 92 hatch in reasonable mechanical shape and no rust? The owner is asking $2000 CAD.

If I do end up buying it I'll definitely be around learning and asking more questions... thanks in advance everyone.

#246929 do a check on the wiring! make sure there are no hack job jumpers anywhere in the bay. if there's any aftermarket audio, check that as well.

check the window seals and also before you buy make sure all the lighting works! running, night, brights, turns, brakes.. another good one is to knock around the wheels wells and see if you can tell a difference between the sheet metal and bondo (since he said there's no rust)

#247073 Thanks man I really appreciate the advice. Unfortunately the title turned out to be a mess! Seriously though, how many times have you seen a Carfax that says "ALERT!"?. LOL. So off to find another I guess. I'll make sure to keep all you said in mind. Thanks.
