#308533 I am a complete newb when it comes to AC systems and I dont know anything about how hondas are wired.

My car has all the stuff for AC but it does not work the AC light comes on when I press the button but the compressor does not kick on. What do I need to check in order to diagnose what my problem is?

#308537 all AC systems have a pressure switch. if there is no refrigerant or oil it will not build pressure and it won't allow the compressor to kick on. preventing damage to the compressor by running dry.

#308543 Ok I tried to gas it but the gauge would just start out going up then spike to the red I had it hooked on the low pressure side and the compressor never kicked on. Maybe I should take it to my friends shop and have him try to charge it for me.

A couple things can't make your compressor kick on...like the crazy-88 said high or low pressure switch, electrical wiring, blow fuse(s), not enough freon.

When you say you hooked up the guages what were your high and low pressure readings?
