#105749 So the story is i didnt have my exhaust all the way bolted up since the cat i had on there was the old one from my d series engine. well i ended up bolting it all together since it was just hanging there and there was only one hanger holding it up. but when i did so the engine felt really restricted, it just wouldnt climb the rpms half as fast as it used to. so i ended up getting a 2.5" obx cat from ebay but it has two O2 sensor holes on it? first question is would this cause a problem if i just bolted it straight up with out pluggin up the O2 holes? and second my friend (who happens to be a honda tech) is trying to tell me that it would be worse for me to put that cat on my car because then there will be too much air flow? but i told him that cant be true since its worse for the engine to have a restricted exhaust and i told him that i noticed a substantial difference when i had everything bolted up. but he insists that its going to be worse for it and he said he wont help me do it. can someone help me out so i can get my car running right? thanks

#105786 By cat do you mean a test pipe or resonator? Because if not you're not making a bit of sense.

#105794  yeah the catalytic converter is what i meant

okay so it can hurt the engine with the holes being open like that?

i figured it would be worse to have a 2" cat connected to a 2.5" header because of the restriction?

but the old cat is still on there

also my exhaust tapers to 2" when it meets with the cat since it is meant for a d series should this be a prob? i know i need to get it fixed as soon as possible but i dont have the money to take it to an exhaust shop yet so i was just wondering if it can cause any real damage to the engine :?
