#104748 Can anyone tell me what the difference is (if any) between the american version(p07 a00) and the canadian version(p07 c00) of the VX ECU?

#104751 the only thing I can think of is that US has stricter emissions laws, such as Cali getting different VX's then the other 49 states

But i would like to know as a huge fan of the VX's

#104754 Thanks for the reply. I read some where that all VX's were built in Canada but prepared differently depending on where they were going. I'm trying to put together a VX and the ECU that I'm buying has the C00 suffix so I was just wondering what was different about Canadian specifications.

#104816 Well, I have already looked there and no luck on that particular subject. That is a good place to look for a lot of good info.

#104949 Since no one can view the P07 calibration, I think hondajunkee's answer is the best you're going to find unless you talk to an actual Honda engineer. I'm fairly certain that it's just a slightly different tune to meet US federal emissions standards but I have no way to prove it.

I wouldn't worry about it. The difference is likely to be very small. It's not even going to effect your standard emissions test. The federal testing procedure is much more complex than the one you get at a local garage.

What are the FE specs of the Canadian market VX vs the CA market and US Fed market VX's? Or in other words, does it use the 4 wire or 5 wire O2?
By oldoldsguy61
#104958 I wish I knew whether Canadian VX's had 4 or 5 wire O2 sensors. If they have 5 then I would feel OK about buying this ECU. Are there any of our Canadian friends out there reading this that know which O2 sensor Canadian VX's use?

#105177 I live in the Vancouver BC area and have a canadian VX im striping for parts to live on in another car. anyway 5wire O2. i'll look at the ECU tonight after work to make sure its a canadian one. best I ever got with the car was 41mpg driving very easy, worst was 38mpg being a dink with my foot on the floor ALOT. if that helps you with wondering the differences.
