#82558 hi guys,

I have a 1994 1.5 D15b2 single point injection, and I have had a running problem ever since I bought it (I have another topic on this, and you all have been so helpful, big thanks)

The problem is the revs drop, almost feels like a stall when changing gear, now I have given a full service, check plug gaps and all the list of jobs you have given me but i think i might have traced it to the cold start or automatic choke (forgive me i have no idea on terminology)

OK from cold the car starts and runs like a charm, perfect. But if the car i stopped and then re started the problem comes back I have no idea how the auto choke works, what bit i have to change/squirt/hit to make it work, i have the workshop manual but its very vague, can someone point me at the part that could be the problem?

Thanks so much for all the help so far,

T

#83463 Try cleaning out your IACV. If that doesn't work, the IACV could be sticking.

#86056 theres like ten million diffrent reasons why a car idle can be fucked.

coolant
air leak
iacv
fitv
ecu
something stuck in intake manifold/ throttle body (happend to a friend)

your best off searching online about idling problems cuz someone would have to write you up a 10 page essay on what can/might be wrong..

#87238 OK, update time

The car needed to go for an MOT, the guy I bought it from had put on a de-cat so i had to put the cat back on. Car passed ok but all the running problems seem to have gone away! There is one thing tho, I have noticed that the car idles at just under 1000 rpm, according to various sources, and the haynes manual it should be lower than that?

There is NO information on my engine anywhere! everyone seems to either have the carb or the multipoint injection. I even bought a CD with the official workshopmanual on it and it doesnt show it!

Thanks for all the help so far guys :thumb:
