#65268 Well, this one is pretty self explanatory. I put the key in the ignition and I can't turn it. Yeah, the car is in park so that's not the problem, but I have been doing a lot of work on it. So I prolly forgot something, or did something wrong.

Can you guys help me trial and error? I'm not familiar with ignitions.

#65285 lets start with what type of work were yo doing to the car that would somehow effect the ignition? did you try just moving the steering wheel some and trying to turn the key at the same time?

#65289 I've been doing a wire tuck to my engine. So It's obviously wiring. And yes. I did try jumbling the steering wheel...I actually think my steering wheel is all the way off now lol.

#65349 The only think I can think of that would stop you from just turning the key is the steering wheel lock. If the wheel locked you wont be able to turn the key. I dont know of any thing else that would stop you from turning the key. Maybe while doing the wiring work, you enaged it somehow with out knowing.

I can turn the key just enough to unlock the steering wheel, so that's not an issue. I can take the key out of the ignition, and the steering wheel will lock If I tamper with it. (like normal) But if I put the key IN the ignition and attempt to turn it, it will go to about half way to the first mark and stop. Like something is blocking it. It will, however, successfully unlock the steering wheel.

#65362 Sounds like the key cylinder is messed up then. Might want to replace that and see what happens.

Yikes...well it worked fine when I started my wire tuck. I already had all the materials for doing the tuck so I hadn't planned on spending any money. and I didn't mess with the unit itself during the process so there can't be anything wrong with it. I think it's probably a sensor somewhere telling the ignition to disable...I was hoping someone would know what sensor would effect that though.

#65373 Does the key still working the door locks and on the boot???

As I had something similar with my DelSol and it turned out to be the key was to warn from being used so much.

I went and got a new key cut and worked fine from then on.

Key works fine to open the trunk and to change the gear out of park when its off like normal. And the key isn't worn. Because like I said before, it worked perfectly fine BEFORE the wire tuck. And the key doesn't get worn from sitting doing nothing >_>

I know almost for a fact that it has nothing to do with the key OR the actual ignition unit. I'm pretty sure it's the wiring...I was just hoping someone here knew WHAT wiring effected it.
