Coils and ignitors go bad when you don't change the spark plugs often enough. It's a fragile system with all the components inside the dizzy. Especially the coil that must be small and run hot in order to fit in there.
Running on old plugs increases the resistance quite a bit.
In other words, check your plugs. You don't want to be replacing that ignitor again a year from now.
