#130919 if you do different cams I do go with Rocket motor sports M22 Cams and Valve springs and retainers i think that would be comparable to a JUN stage 3 cams or something like that.

#130986 b16a2's are also quite a strong engine..here in NZ they get boosted with stock internals and some run quite high boost..dont forget to make a build thread if you get the b16a2..

#131009 The JDM B16 has 10 more hp becouse of higher compression, different pistons, cams, ecu, etc.

One big difference most people dont think of is the Transmission that comes attached to the engine.
The JDM B16 tranny has the same gears the USDM GSR does, However the USDM B16 99-00 Civic Si Tranny has shorter gears so it will accelerate better.

I would recommend putting the USDM b16 off the 99-00 Civic Si and Delsol VTEC on whatever B Series you get.

who told you JDM b16 trans has same gears as GSR is wrong....

you can check these sites for the complete gear ratio guide.

only diff. on the JDM trans and the USDM trans is i think 1st gear.

#132808 USDM ITR and JDM ITR and B16 gear ratios are identical for 96-97spec JDM ITR, 97-01 USDM ITR, and all B16 trannies.

The GSR tranny (USDM and JDM) is a longer geared tranny. It's better for mild boosted engines and street driven moderate powered engines.

Major difference between the B16 and ITR trannies is that the JDM ITR has an LSD, B16 does not depending on JDM or USDM, ITR has double synchros, and a stronger case. I was just schooled on that over on my other forum...

And back to the "What do I do when I change my pistons and cams?" question. ALL B-series VTEC cams will work in ALL B-series VTEC heads. And whatever piston you want, make sure it's for the B16 of whatever suffix you have. Generally, the B16 pistons are all going to fit in the B16. I believe the bore is 81mm, so essentially, any B18 pistons will fit in there iif you use the B18 rods, piston pins, rings, and crank. Then you have a stroked B16.
