OK.. I have located this HONDA CIVIC EG/EJ OBD1 D15B SOHC VTEC ENGINE which I am about to order.... I am not familiar with the codes ( EG/EJ OBD1 ) but would this be a good swap for the d15B ?. Also, is the ECU that you say is the Electronic Control Unit and should I ask the seller to provide me with one ?

#157063 If that is the engine and trans, id say go for it.
If its just the engine... id probably save a little more and get a b18b swap

Just out of curiosity... why a b18b ? is it better ? more economical ? is it a direct swap ?

#157160 b18b's have more torque. They have tons of aftermarket parts. and can pretty quick with very few mods. They have a better power potential then a JDM d15b VTEC, ZC VTEC, or a D16z6(SOHC VTEC). In Stock trim they are better for turboing then a D Series as well. With a Transmission swap to a GSR(b18c) or a B16, you will be faster then direct b16 swaps, AS well as most N/A D Series Vtec's.

I Use to promote D16z6's and jdm d15b's all the time, They the best D Series engine you can get, a stock d16z6 with d16z6 transmission, will beat a b18b with a stock b18b(LS) transmission. However the B18b still has better potential, Also like I said above, with a B18c(GSR) Transmission it will be faster then B16's as well as D16z6's. I believe the b18b is a more fun daily Driver as well because of the extra torque it has.

Its a really easy swap. You will need the engine(from a 94-95), 94-01 Integra Mounts, Axles and shift linkage. All wiring is plug and play. You pull out the old D Series. take out the shift linkage. Replace it with the Integra linkage, put in the B Series Engine/Transmission and your done.

The swap can be done over a Weekend.

So you suggest I put in a B series transmission as well ? Will the b18b engine not work with my current transmission which I assume is still good ? Maybe I can get a better deal if I get the engine/transmission package... I'll have to start looking for a JDM one... Do they have them coming from Japan too ?
Is there any welding to be done replacing the Integra Mounts, Axles and shift linkage .. or is it direct mod. replacement ?

#157189 my friend. this is what you need to do. decide if you want to put in a swap or not. ther is no welding required for a b18b1 swap. yes you need a b series tranny. your tranny will not work. d trans go on d motors, b trans go on b motors. and if you order off of hmotors.com the engines come from japan. with low milage. to your door step. ready to slap in..

Boy ! That B18B is quite beyond my budget ! by the time I'm done with it it'll cost me almost $2500+. I think I'd rather stay with the D15B VTEC... it fit my budget better....

I wanted to buy a japenese VTEC engine but the seller told me that my 92 civic is not wired for a VTEC... If so, what does it involve putting in the right wire harness and I would imaging it is for the ECU... could the engine run without it ?
