- Thu Oct 23, 2008 6:42 pm #75701 i did find alot of gold paint inside the oil pan and valve cover, the last ownr painted the valve cover gold, and it chipped off everywhere....

- Mon Oct 27, 2008 5:43 pm #76161 its possible that a paint chip or some other debris got sucked into an oil passage and blocked it, leaving the bearing 'dry'.

most common way to spin a bearing in a d16 is rev it hard when oil is low.
