#57577 sometimes my car idles very weird, its revs to 2 rpms then down to 1 rpms then back to 2 then 1 then 2 then 1 and its annoying, my buddy said its something on the throttle, i cannot remember the name of it though its some kind of sensor, he said to take off my intake and idle my engine high and spray a can of cleaner in there but after its cleaned i will need a new o2 sensor. he said its not a major thing and my car will be fine but not to worry about it if i gonna end up doing an engine swap, but my question is whats the name of the sensor attatched to my throttle?

#57606 Sounds like your friend was talking about the TPS sensor. When they go bad they start to spike and this can cause something like you describe. It's easier to get a new throttle body than to change the TPS and make your own gasket since no one supplies them. And to position it correctly.

Tell your friend that you can remove the O2 sensor, plug the hole with a spark plug, spray carb cleaner to your hearts content while the engine's running, and then replace the O2 sensor when you're done. That should blow his mind. Replace the O2 sensor.... ... !!!
