#56739 I was looking for a Type R oilpump for my near future B16A build, and I came across a company called 'Apocalypse Power'.
The guy machines oil pumps to his specifications, and charges 175 bucks for it, here's the link to the eBay item; LINK

Some pics of his porting job;

left is modded, right is stock

The guy seems legit with enough positive feedback, but I was wondering if I should go with this, or just find myself a stock Type R oilpump.

My build; B16A, AEBS sleeved, 85mm, LS crank, B17A rods, JE stroker pistons (2.020cc), wil be boosted, shooting for a conservative 400hp, daily driven.

#56795 i think its the B20 oil pump form the CRV/ Orthia that is the same as the GSR or the Type R i forgot its a little bit cheaper than the Type R counter part they both have the same part number

#56862 So what your saying is that the GSR oilpump is the same pump used by the Type R and B20 equiped CRV?

Hmm.... I got intrigued by that, and took the chance to find out some things in the EPC.
These all have the SAME oil pump (EDM cars);
EK4 B16A2 -> 15100-PR4-A03 (genII of the B16A2)
DC2 B18C6 -> 15100-PR4-A03 (Type R)
MB6 B18C4 -> 15100-PR4-A03 (Civic Aerodeck 1.8 VTI)
CRV B20** -> 15100-PR4-A03 (what engine, B20Z I believe?)
Same price (€ 165,99 before taxes)

These are different;
EG6 B16A2 -> 15100-PR3-014 (and EG9)
EE9 B16A1 -> 15100-PR3-004 (aka EF9)
Both € 147,66 before taxes

Then there is a whole other story; the Del Sol.
1994 B16A2 -> 15100-PR3-014
1995 B16A2 -> 15100-PR3-014 ánd 15100-PR3-024
1996 and 1997 B16A2 -> 15100-PR4-A03

When did Honda put the B16A3 in cars, afaik it was available in the Del Sol at some point in time... from 1996 on?
And what is the difference between both available oilpumps from the 1995 Del Sol?

Weird stuff!

#57005 off/t;
Your site rocks man, it's in my bookmarks for quitte a while :thumb:

on/t;
Theoldone rules the neighbourhood, how nice of him to write those articles, especially considering it's his way of making a living... too bad not to many people have that kind of an attitude.
Oh well, I guess he makes enough money out of Hod Rod's and V8's :lol:

I also came across some other very helpfull articles, thanks for bringing him back to my attention!

#57090 He used to make a living off of hot rods and V8's. Then he switched to Hondas. If he had stayed with domestics I don't think his name would be "the old one". Anyway this is just a side job for him. He makes very little margin on his products.
