#300155 ferio would be a good choice. especally for a highway cruiser.

converting to a diesel wont be easy. Theres no vacum on them for one thing, different fuel pump, and lines for sure.

The good thing about hondas is how easy it is to swap other honda engines across. This one will be a good deal harder but in the end the mpg's should be worth it.

Just to be a devils advocate, Have you thought about putting in a d16y5 VTEC-E + HX transmission and getting 40+Mpg's? A friend of mine had one and blew me away with how much fun it was to drive. Sure it wouldn't pull on my b20 sol or my WRX, but it had tons of torque, and was very fun to drive.

This would be alot easier of a swap. I had a d16z6 + HX(VTEC-E model EK) transmission in my sedan for a while and it also pulled really good, got high 40's on the freeway and 30's in town. The engine and transmission are in storage and are being planned to be swapped back into my delsol as 22mpg with our fuel prices are killing me.

If you do plan on going diesel, Good luck and be sure to post up a build thread as im sure it will get some attention.

EDIT:
Found an acceleration video of the accord diesel:

Your accerlation should be a decent bit faster as the TSX(american version of your UKDM accord) is around 3400lbs, around 800-1000lbs more then our EG's. My USDM DX 4dr sedan was around 2400 lbs.

#300387 The biggest reason for me is mpg and as petrol is around £1.45 per ltr which works out at $2.32Per ltr.

I was toying with making an electric eg but now I'm looking at doubling my traveling distance for my new job I'll need to go deisel.

#300461 there are people on gas mpg fourms that tune and build their car for better mpg.

you can make it run leaner which is burning less fuel, turn it off at every stop light, coast as much as possible, put a governer on the throttle so you cant go full throttle, lower compression, less aggressive cams, skinny tires, custom gear ratios either short for city or longer for highway, weight reduction, de stroke motor, and so on.....

so much you can do to improve mpg.

people online hit 50mpg with old honda hf's and i have personally seen a 86 crx hit 50mpg. if you mod them you can hit 60mpg. thats better than some diesels.

True true but a diesel eg would be some much cooler than anything else you could do! And you can get more power and in turn get better MPG out of most diesels
