I'm new to the site but still without an EG in Florida. I'm off to a rough start, having missed the car I should have purchased due to a business trip. It was a '94 CX HB with 155K miles - 100% stock/unmolested. The car had one owner that traded it into a dealership. I'm assuming it was garage kept as the original paint still had good gloss. It sat on the (big) dealership lot for almost 2 weeks before I saw the ad. I spoke to them several times on the phone but it sold the day before I could get back for $2100. Having continued to look for the last 6 weeks, that seems like a really good value for a single owner, stock Civic in the area.
...but the past is the past... I'm going to look at two Civics tomorrow. Perhaps one will fit my needs.
I'm a (not so young) IT guy and I have some money to put into the project but I don't want to get crazy with it. When I was in high school, my dad, grandfather and I restored a '66 Mustang which I drove for years. The Civic is intended to be a project car to work on with my son. Nothing is easy though and I don't have the huge garage + carport where my grandfather let me keep the often torn apart Mustang. Instead I've got a tight 2-car garage and an overzealous Home Owner's Association (and a wife who pleads for me to just buy a new Accord)!
My introduction is already too long but let me conclude by saying that even if I don't find an EG Civic project car, I've thoroughly enjoyed reading this site for the last month. It is very informative and many of the Civics are simply amazing. The level of maturity also seems high compared to many online communities. Kudos and thanks again for all the excellent informative posts.

PS - The posts on Civic Thefts have been a bit terrifying and can scare one off getting into an EG Civic!
