you already posted a solution. clean it. while your at it, clean your IACV(idle air control valve) all you need is wrenches, carb clener/brake cleaner, and a wire brush for the egr.

- Sun Mar 01, 2009 5:27 pm #99668 The IACV is an Idle air control valve and sometimes you just need to open it up and wind the spring retainer back in. That's what my issue was (idle would go from 500 to 1000 and back over and over and over).
