YES! They really do! That is why they are so expensive.. my wideangle has also very good quality.
I was at a meeting once and used my L lense.. but it didnt work there so i grabed my kitlense and after the meeting i watched the pictures on my laptop.. well.. i could cry about the quality haha
i had 5 pictures of the L lense and the rest from the kitlense, you can see the difference very good.
