as long as both the red and yellow get 12v and the ground actually goes to ground it should work. like i said i would check to see if you are getting anything out of the red and yellow and then see if ground is grounded
also if you want to check if the stereo works real quick just take the RED wire and the BLACK wire and hook it up to the battery. should turn on. the yellow wire is for a constant 12 so it can save the memory.
